| By popular request - folks wanting a FLC2C ride for 2009 - will be doing a no-frills, no dice rolling, no checkpoints, no time requirement to finish ride (well, hopefully before sundown), - a ride we will call - FLC2C III Re-do. We will re-do the route from Florida C2C Ride III 2007. The lure of the open road just cannot be denied. There's nothing quite as exhilarating for those who simply want to explore on a beautiful day and head off in search of adventure - knowing there's something exciting awaiting them out on the road. By motorcycle is the most intimate way to explore Florida's natural beauty. This ride offers participants the opportunity to discover a side of the Sunshine State that is uncommon and revealing. The Florida Coast2Coast Ride is one of the best events that lets you explore deep into the rural areas of the state, that gives you the rare chance to experience the slow, quieter side of Florida...in the mild temps of mid-November. This year's route is a very distinctive route, starting from Tampa FL, that weaves across rural central Florida on some of the best, awe-inspiring scenic mazes of back roads/byways the state has to offer, which makes for a wonderful relaxing ride, with the final destination being Ormond Beach, FL. The route will cross over the Tampa Bypass Canal & St. John's River...ride through the scenic Ocala National Forest & under a cathedral of trees, the Tomoka State Park...experience the graceful curves of the Florida Alps & Sugarloaf Mountain, with the panoramic view of Lake Apopka...ride along the scenic shorelines of Lake Thonotosassa, Lake Minnehaha, Little Lake Harris, Lake Dora & the Halifax River (Intercoastal Waterway). The ride will begin at Ker's Winghouse of Brandon. Why start at Ker's Winghouse??? After you have ridden the first mile of this route you will understand why!
